One of the reasons I fell in love with Josh was because of the way he interacted with his niece and nephew on one of our first hangouts the summer before we got married. He invited me to come with him to babysit. Soon after we arrived at Josh's sister's house, I realized that this wasn't going to be a "have the kids watch a movie while we hang out with each other" kind of thing. Instead, the main activity was playing with the kids, and I was just there to help out. I wonder if they would have noticed me at all if I hadn't joined in! I realized how much he loved his niece and nephew (and how much they loved him!), and I knew that he would make a great dad someday.
Josh has exceeded my expectations. He is so wonderful with his son. Anyone who has seen them interacting with each other can tell just how much they love each other.
Often, in the mornings, Josh will take Jr. and spend time with him so that I can go back to sleep. Josh comes home from work in the afternoon and takes care of Jr. while I get the things done that I couldn't do during the day with a little two-month-old in tow. Josh also tends to do the dishes or the laundry or cook dinner, or whatever else is needed at the moment. I really don't know what I would do without the best husband in the world.
Here is a video that Jr. and I made for Josh while he was at work one day.
And Jr. says: "smnnzbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb" which, roughly translated, means:
So...for anyone who is tired of so many baby pictures, I do apologize in advance. I just want to show everyone how cute he is! And how fat he is. He's two months old today, and is now weighing in at 13 pounds, 10 oz.! (90th percentile for his age) He eats sooo much. I wish he slept sooo much, but I'm sure we'll get to sleep through the night someday!
He does lots of smiling lately!
Of course, he also has his grumpy times.
(Anyone who knows what Grandpa Bruce Blackham looks like, can you see a resemblance in this last picture??)
