Amoroso

I ran across an old video this evening. In it, you will see and hear the peak of my musical education at BYU: my performance on the Krumhorn.

The following is a little number called "Amoroso." Of all our repertoire, it was my very favorite piece, and it gets more exciting the faster it is played. Please note the unique ornamentation implemented by the soprano and alto krumhornists.

I think this picture was meant to be our album cover.

P.S. In case you were wondering, this isn't really what I consider the peak of my musical education. Yes, you can laugh.

I can't wait for the day that I can say, "Hey junior, check out mom in her favorite garb." That'll be a cool day, well up until the point that junior tells you I said that. Then probably the day wouldn't be as cool.

Hi. I love how you can tell that we are trying so hard not to bust up laughing near the end. Guess what. I saw Amanda, the girl who played to recorder who was standing next to me who you could barely see in this video, in Athens this summer. It was random. I wish I would have kept playing the crumhorn. I forgot how good we were.

I especially love how Briana and I are wearing not black socks!

I am so saddened that I was not there to help you out on that performance. Oh well.

So when are going to make our album?

How come you're not playing this at IDRS?! You'd steal the show! Who all is in this video? I only recognize you and Briana, but everyone else looks vaguely familiar...

Also, where on earth did you get such a ridiculously cute blog theme?! I love it! Did you make the "merrily Karolys" picture at the top?

It was a pretty cool song...those instruments are weird looking-but your fingers were like magic floating across the...keys? holes? what do you call them?

oh my goodness what in the world are you wearing???? I agree with the other person, you should have played this at IDRS. And by the way, is that tall guy Callins Clark?

nope, not Collins Clark. A medieval club guy. don't ask.

This just brought back a flood of memories about teasing you about your Krumhorn! I still need to see you perform!

And yes, I do go to lots of concerts, I love live music! My new years resolution was to go to at least one a month.
