I can't wait for our next roadtrip to California.

1. jr. throws up 5 times in 24 hours. all over our kind cousin's house.
2. our cousin (who is pregnant) and two of her children get what jr. has.
3. driving over Donner Pass on our way back home, they make us exit the freeway and buy snow chains for our tires. it's MAY. and we HAVE chains, but we left them at home in Utah.
4. the chains cost $70.
5. Josh is wearing flip-flops and a t-shirt in the snow, trying to put the chains on. (I loan him my sweater, just to be nice.) they give us the wrong size chains, so he has to go back and return them, then start all over again. we drive with the chains on for maybe 15 minutes.

7. jr. pukes in the car.
8. we spend at least the last half hour of the car ride with the babies alternating screaming (and I mean really screaming. jr. does nothing half-heartedly.), and of course there is construction before the Provo exit.

1. bennett gets to meet Bennett (his great grandfather, whose health has not been good lately).

2. bennett gets to spend Mother's Day with his great grandmother.
3. we get to spend time with lots of loved ones.
4. it was totally worth it.

(but if we got you sick, I'm so sorry.

can you see the rainbow in the distance?

Ahh! Opposition in all things. Don't you just love it. Good news is you made it home safely!! I was very relieved to hear it.

I'm SO glad you had all those positive experiences to offset the bad ones.

If you go over Donner in Aug be sure to take at least one set of chains. (jk)

Oh my, that sounds like quite the trip! I'm glad you had fun and got to see family though, that's what it's all about!

Yeah, I think there are quite a few of us who've had, ahem, "experiences" on Donner Pass. Mine didn't involve screaming puking babies, tho. So glad you made it safely!

P.S. Josh, that sweater looks AWESOME! ;)

AW! I love that post! It's so real, and full of life and sweet at the same time. I'm so so so sorry that jr threw up and got sick everywhere! That is no good. But what an awesome picture of the two Bennetts. I love that SO much. Happy Californiaing :) Maybe you should just move here and then you wouldn't have all the traveling to deal with. *hint hint*

Awwww, wish you had gotten a pic with Bennett and Grandma as well. Sorry about your challenges, but that's so cool you were able to just up and go. Bet you're glad you did.
Love you guys!
