So I really want to read your latest blogpost, but lately I just haven't had the time! Why, you may be asking?

Jr. has stopped taking naps.

Let me say that again.

Jr. has stopped taking naps.

The other day while trying to get him to nap, I held his door closed for 45 minutes. Luckily I was reading a good book at the time. Believe me, he checked every few moments to make sure I was still there, keeping him in his room (between bouts of spitting, kicking the door, and screaming).

I have no idea how anyone survives at this point.

At least I get to spend more time with him...
(and he's usually much more fun to hang out with when I'm not forcing him to stay in his room, don't worry.)

Oh wow! I will go nuts if Clay does that permanently! He skips them once in a while, but not all the time. Hey maybe it's time to look into pre-schools? Anything to keep sane ;)

oh no! the end of naps! i hope it's just a temporary thing, and not a new habit! i know naomi's nap schedule has been destroyed by our holiday trip home, but i think it'll get back to normal soon.

what was the good book you were reading?

I make mine nap until they're six. I'm mean. AND they're upstairs :(

Starting to reconsider, though. Maybe naps shouldn't happen after age 2 or so.

One thing I DO require, though, of those kids who are awake: It's mommy's quiet time. So... don't bug me for an hour, and you have to be quiet, or else you DO have to take a nap, like the little kids who don't know how to be quiet during quiet time!

Of course, Jr's not really at a reasonable enough age to explain this concept. :( So good luck.

That boy needs to have "quiet time". I'll come watch him for you for a couple of hours each day.

Oh my, he looks SO grown up in that pic! Super cute, super cute indeed.
Sorry about the no naps. Addie still takes a huge 2-3 hour nap every day, but then she won't fall asleep until 11 (even though we put her to bed at 8). I'm realizing that i probably shouldn't let her nap and then night time would be better, but adele... I'm simply not ready for that! Nap time is precious- precious I say! I suppose I dont need to tell that to you though :) My condolences, dear friend. My condolences.

OH THE FUN BEGINS...well really he will be a lot more fun now, but it's gotta be an adjustment to not getting a nap away from this kiddo. :) Just look at that face though! He is so innocent! hahaha.

I completely understand not keeping up with blogs too. It is hard when you are juggling an un-napping toddler!

Man oh man. There's gotta be some way to lock the door from your side up high or something. Sorry Joshie, I really think that, even if he's not sleeping, quiet time is important every day. Yikes. That kiddo sure likes to have a say in things (as I type this I look down and D as smeared nutri-grain bar all over the fabric of my kitchen chair. sigh.). Keep at it! Good luck!

Oh dang...gotta love that down time. Too bad he doesn't realize napes give him more energy and time to be superman. That should get his super hero juices going...:) Hopefully you are finding a good pace now though :)
